For Immediate Release: February 26, 2021

The recent high number of positive cases is extremely concerning and Ohsweken Public Health is
providing this information to prevent further spread of COVID-19 within the community.

Ohsweken Public Health is pleading with community members to seek immediate testing for COVID-19 if
they attended any gathering outside of their immediate household (masked or not) or if they have came
into contact with other community members who attended a gathering. This is inclusive of household
contacts of community members who attended any gathering outside of their home.

It is important to realize that people who have had exposure to COVID-19 can spread the infection even
before they know they have COVID-19.

Ohsweken Public Health is asking community members who may have attended any community
gatherings within the last two weeks to self-isolate for 14 days from the last day of attendance and
contact the assessment centre for testing.

Community members can access additional supports to successfully self-isolate: such as laundry,
cleaning supplies, groceries, water, mental health supports, personal protective equipment, personal
care items and traditional supports. These needs can be identified to the Assessment Centre at 1-855-
977-7737 or 226-446-9909, or through Ohsweken Public Health at 519-445-2672.

Individuals experiencing symptoms, even the mildest, need to seek testing as soon as possible and to
self-isolate while waiting for test results or if they have been contacted by public health to remain in
self-isolation until cleared.

As always, any community members who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or feel they may have
engaged in any high risk activities that would make them susceptible to COVID-19 please book your test
online today at www.sixnationscovid19.ca. For community members that cannot use the online booking
service are encouraged to call the Assessment Centre at 1-855-977-7737 or 226-446-9909.
